I remember when no one knew who Iron Fist was. Now that there is a Netflix series, suddenly people want to act like a big time expert on the character of Iron Fist. If you ain't read a comic about the character, don't judge the show on that. Instead, judge the show in regards to whether the story, the sensibilities, and the choreography all do its job or not. Because if that's the case, then why aren't people talking about Shang Chi? They might as well have Shang Chi get a series , But if he had one, I wonder how people would claim it stereotypical in regards to the fact that's its an Asian guy who is the master of kung fu. Because it's a slippery slope when people who don't read source material try to shit on something that they have no knowledge about. There are characters of representation that get no spotlight because A) Either no one cared about them until a show is made or movie, or B) They don't even know that these characters exist. Anywho, you be the judge of the series when you see it, and judge it by its story.
Also, here is my thoughts on Netflix and Marvel's Iron Fist. Personally, I only saw the first 6 episodes out of 13 ( Since I wasn't able to have access, thus only judging / reviewing what was shown). It's too early to tell whether or not the rest of the series will fall victim to the criticism from early reviews. I wrote my own thoughts one episode at a time to try to see how each episode stands on its own and whether it helps to progress the series or not. http://fanboyfactor.com/2017/03/tv-review-marvels-iron-fist-episode-1-snow-gives-way-netflix/
