Two steps ahead/caution of poem by Anthony Andujar jr
Don't allow yourself to be stuck in illiteracy. Because that's how they get you, by going by their hearsay.
Keep learning with knowledge so that you can master that wordplay, and know all the words so that no one can take advantage by using that subliminal word slay.
Oh you didn't hear what they say?
Because you're too caught up by the double standards of what the media want you to play?
Mass hysteria set to destroy your entire mental state? And grill you like fish for them to sauté?
Knowledge is important. It is the ultimate sword against any unknown combatant that bears Ill will to your soul. They can't doop ya if you're able to exact words by tenfold.
Kid, I say this to you Because they hide, laughing and dancing, bearing it all.
Slow jamming around you in hooves more hidden than what's behind a bathroom stall.
They look safe, they look clean, but they got your mind and soul wrapped up by what they claim.
Devilish smiles of silver tongue charm,
if you don't learn then you will never know why they benefit from you at all.
you'll end up as a statistic, because you didn't look in the fine print,
Or get that lawyer to help you look over it.
They all got tricks, using fictional AK's, that's what most businesses do.
And if you don't learn now, they'll be two steps ahead of you, because you bonded your soul with consent.
Remember, at the end of the day there will always be a bigger fish than you, you and you.
Just recognize that there is a shark tank of a world ready to consume you, especially if you act by trying to abide by what's considered cool.
Form your own mind, don't jump on assumptions.
Wait professor? Wouldn't that be a double standard or something?

In the room poem by Anthony Andujar jr 10/15/14
In the room poem by Anthony Andujar jr
I'm in the room.
I observe as everyone is drinking their glasses: hahahaha
Getting high off their shrooms.
What a night shift, would not realize that we would all become carcass.
Let me explain.
It's a social gathering, pops of Chardonnay and champagne. Brandy has some people a little woozy in the brain. But unknown to us is an uninvited guest, who came to play.
Hahaha, he joins in on the laugh. Even shares a cake with a fine woman I might add.
Everyone laughs, good times for all . Until a loud bang sounds off in the bathroom hall.
A tray and plate with glass cups shatter in display. Leaving organic red paint in everyone's wake.
Hahaha, how could no one here the silent roar? They didn't see me as a lion, not even a wolf at all?
I blend in just like you he said.
Now I've lost all appetite for my soup he says.
Ted bundy, and money and all the killers before me, look at me now.
Before the cops enter the scene, as he plans to shoot me in the spleen. He shouts to everyone :
I hope they remember me!
Another wannabe killed on the scene. Another wannabe for the authorities to clean.
Blackout.
screen turns to static with rainbows, then changes to a news report, goes blank and then
Green.
But why the fuck did he choose me?
Moonshine Sunshine poem by Anthony Andujar jr 10/15/14
Moonshine Sunshine poem by Anthony Andujar jr
The moonshine to my sunshine,
Around us is where the stars form, dance and die.
Separate, yet around through out time, unknowing of each others presence until massive craters and explosive stars collide.
Within the collision is a consummation of two giant spheres.
Two individual souls. Representing every aspect of delivering life and Ultimate death.
Within this irony of collision, is a sense of unity.
Connection.
When passion collides, it is both beautiful and destructive.
Aware yet unpredictable.
As you can see, we function and flow like two rivers. It's taken Heaven, Olympus and Valhalla a while to circulate our course of union.
Despite ever continually cycle, I do not know when the moonshine will scatter, just as I do not know when the sunshine will die and explode.
But what I do know is this. Opposites attract, twist and connect.
An ever continuing cycle, of light and dark, life and death, clarity and confusion, love and loss. One thing is constant:
Tending to the moon and the stars. As long as the light pollution does not blind us from our care, as long as the sun and moon still exist , the moment between present and future can last as long as we want it.
Until then, moonshine, you will continue to shine bright from one corner of time as the sunshine glows in the other.
When all is said and done, and gone away, what will remain, is the love.
Because love does not grow with in a glance.
It grows with the proper care. Your cold moonlight glare to provide aquatic sensations to the plant. the rays of sunshine a warmth and comfort that provides this plant that we've crated to take care of. what both spheres contribute, is function, teamwork, synchronism and unity.
In this union, this relationship is significant. In order for the plant to survive, it needs to be tended by the Moonshine and sunshine. With that said, how can love ever grow if no one is tending to the seeded plant of love?
It's not there yet. But gradually, as the plant grows. With the healthiest nutrients provided, it can survive any condition, as long as the moon and sun can provide.
With that said, The moonshine to my sunshine,
Around us is where the stars form, dance and die.
Where we can treat life and thrive for it.
Separate, yet around through out time, unknowing of each others presence until massive craters and explosive stars collide.
Within this universe, within this plant between us, this earth, is where our lives of commitment reside.
Until the stars and life die, this is wherein this universe and galaxy, is where our trace of love, death, loss and life, reside. No matter what, remember me. be it of good times and bad.
When my light goes dim, and when your moonlight fades, remember where our union resides,
Within the universes library of faded memories, is where we will reside.
The moonshine to my sunshine,
Around us is where the stars form, dance and die.
Separate, yet around through out time, unknowing of each others presence until massive craters and explosive stars collide.

HUA 166 ART History Museum Report: Visiting the Met By Anthony Andujar Jr

Museum Report
The museum of choice that this research paper based it's study on was The Metropolitan Museum of Art. As I walked the halls I explored the American section, Medieval Section and lastly the Renaissance section. The piece of art that was chosen for the paper is The Winged Child: Fountain Figure among a few other art pieces that was also documented. This bronze sculpted model was made by Donato Di Niccolo Di Betto Bardi who by modern standards is most recognized as the legendary renaissance artist named Donatello.
The Winged Child :Fountain Figure was crafted between (ca. 1386-1466) in Florence, Italy. In the description of the sculpture , it details that the winged child could possibly be Mercury who is the Roman version of the Greek god Hermes (The messenger/ speedster.) Although the winged child does appear to bear a great resemblance to the character, it has yet to be proven if the child is Mercury. The fountain figure was designed to be a public attraction sprouting water within a fountain as most fountain figures do.
Donatello is one of the most well known renaissance artists that stood out among the rest along side Raphael, Leonardo DaVinci and Michelangelo as one of the top tier artists of the Renaissance in the 1400's. Seeing a model or piece of Donatello's work was surprising to see. Of all of the top four kings of the renaissance, the Met only had a few pieces by Donatello but, from the visit there didn't seem to be other pieces that were from the top four aside from pieces made by other sculptors and artists of the renaissance. Despite the fact that Donatello was the only artist of the top four that had art available for viewing.
Another art piece that was in the exhibit was Louis C. Tiffany's Autumn Landscape leaded favrile glass piece. The piece was crafted between 1923-1924 in New York. The piece has a beautiful colorful design like quality that would fit suitably in a cathedral. The colorful flower pellets that are designed on to the glass has been suggested that it was contributed /crafted by the artist Northrop who was recognized for her works with land and floral like pieces. Although Northrop is suggested, it is still yet to be proven true.
There have been other pieces in Louis C. Tiffany's collection that showcase similar styles of design and texture. One piece produced by Tiffany is the Garden Landscape and Fountain piece. Tiffany crafted his Mosaic fountain piece in his very own Tiffany Studios (1902-33) located in New York. A lot of his mosaic pieces were inspired by Maxfield Parrish designs as well Byzantine works of the 1800's, which influenced his work and approach to using and manipulating transparent glass and colors.
In Louis C. Tiffany's works such as the Autumn Landscape and the Garden Landscape and Fountain pieces they share some similarities to each other. Both of the pieces have similar mosaic patterns that help make an object into something else or otherworldly. Another similarity that the crafted pieces both share is that they display a great amount of glowing color that attracts the eye and makes the viewer feel that they are in the presence of something holy. The only differences between the two pieces is that they were produced with different kinds of materials and color distributions that allow for a different kind of experience for the viewers.
Over all the artwork that Donatello and Louis C. Tiffany have crafted are different , they both share common use for decor purposes. Although Donatello's Winged Child: Fountain figure and Louis C. Tiffany's Grand Landscape Fountain mosaic are not the same in material, they do share a common purpose in being used for public/ private fountains. Donatello's winged child is a bronze figure for a fountain while Louis C. Tiffany's Grand Landscape, is a fountain made with Mosaic tiles and design. It's artwork that is displayed for private owners to have or for the public to see, which the artists have done an excellent job at that.
Donatello's : Winged Child Fountain Figure
Note: When I saw this couple standing there in front of the glass piece, it was hard not to resist taking the photo.

Shout out to legendary Maryland rapper Substantial (Stanley Robinson) By Anthony Andujar jr
My friend Radaie and I were chilling as we waited for a friend of ours (KG) one Friday afternoon. Radaie and I were discussing about music, rappers and producers that we know of that either had some great lyrical content, quality, unique beats and rhythms etc. Radaie had me listen to Kendrick Lemar's tracks from his early work with songs like "Kiesha song" and then we spoke about Kanye West and how he approached hip hop by blending things that were unacceptable and making it acceptable examples: Graduation, 808 Heartbreak, merging backpack rap with certain qualities of other rap, introducing different genres to a larger audience in the way Thom Yorke , Massive Attack, and Damon Albarn have etc.) Radaie and I spoke about admiration for Tyler the Creator in terms of his instrumental production and his primal energy with wordplay that reminds people of Eminem back when he first came into being in the early 2000's.
Midway in the conversation we spoke about how despite the thug /gangsta rap stereotype that sadly tends to plague Hip Hop alongside Trap music, a marginal group would tend to say that there are barely any rap lyricists/artists who speak about hard hitting stories and positivity. Radaie and I elaborated on tracks like "Kiesha Song" by Kendrick Lemar, "Culture of Fear " By Thievery Corporation (feat Lift), Lupe Fiasco, and a few other rap artists that have lyrics that present societal conscience and themes about society and the willingness to rise above the struggles as well as molding their environment and not the other way around.
We then spoke about Real Hip Hop Turn tabelists /beat makers such as Dj Shadow (Endtroduction album, the less you know the better, The Outsider) , James Levelle (UNKLE :Psyence Fiction), Flying Lotus and Nujabes. As soon as I spoke about Nujabes and his work with other rappers like Lupe Fiasco , Shing02 and Substantial, that's when it came to a point that had to be discussed. There are tons of great rappers out there that speak about positive , uplifting, truthful , conscience subject matter like Substantial. Albums such as :

- To This Union A Sun Was Born (2001) , Sacrifice (2008), Home is where the Art is (2012), Jack N' Jill : a Jill Scott dedicated album (2013) , Substantial Vs Samurai Champloo: Beats, Rhymes and Strife are examples of positive work and creative content that promotes positivity as well as well written lyrics. Personally, he's been one of my fave rappers since the 7th grade (2008) due to being introduced to his work with Nujabes from the Samurai Champloo Anime. His work has always been influential to my I illustrative works and written works.
The point is that there are a lot of great rappers that have great lyrical content , skill , and positive conscience in their music. But sadly people are sleeping on them because they are either too caught up on Mainstream /radio mainstays or channels that never give up and coming quality rap artists the kind of recognition or air play that thy deserve to have. It goes for all genres of music. There is nothing wrong with mainstays, but when people only know of then and barely know or acknowledge the artists that are out there , mainly being seen at either face value or not being known at all. What in trying to say is, Music isn't dead, and each genre is not dead, it's just that the real quality artists aren't given enough of an opportunity to get there air time to cement their work. If it's not that, it's possibly because of a kind of stigma , or that some people who think that they know hip hop when all they listen to is trap are missing out. Not to hate on Macklemore , but there have been rappers who've been around for years and have spoken about social content and usually got shunned by the mainstream because nobody wanted to hear about cerebral content and positivity.
There are still lyricists out there. There is still a lot of great music out there. It's just a matter of whether or not people want to give them the time of day and make a change of pace.
Here's a link to one of Substantial's Substantial vs Samurai Champloo : Beats , Rhymes and Strife : I hope you enjoy. And to Substantial, Thanks for all of the work that you do for the youth and also for inspiring many others to pursue their education, who love the arts in finding their voice and mindset in life and learning the transition of boyhood to men in progress . Thanks. Ant. A

Welcome back. Fall session of 2014 entry by Anthony Andujar jr
First , I want to say welcome back. It's been possibly almost three months since I've made a recent written post/entry. Long story short, I did a summer session taking two art classes (since I am a Fine Arts Major) that were taught by the cool Professor Julie A. Nagle. After completing the session and classes as well as having a new found appreciation for using charcoal (Burton if you see this, you now have me convinced. Haha.)
In the weeks that I had left to enjoy my summer vocation I took interest in catching up reading some comics and looking up video game cutscenes movies /walkthroughs of games I may never get a chance to play or ever have the time to purchase. I took the time to watch games such as Outlast (along with the Downloadable content :Whistleblower) courtesy of watching Dashi Game's YouTube channel for the hilarious commentary to get me through the game's scares and interesting storyline.
I also looked into old gems such as Edios and Crystal Dynamics Legacy Of Kain games series. I started from Soul Reaver 1 to then watch Soul Reaver 2 and Legacy of Kain: Defiance which had some very great story telling and interesting setting that focused on elements of Shakespearean tragedy, irony, fate, illusion of choice, dreams/ nightmares , gothic settings, vampires and revelation. Given that it was made in a very interesting time of the late 90's - early 2000's where there was this era of heavily dark and light story telling. Pretty much as you can see, I've been very interested in a lot of mystery, noir, thriller based stories that have influenced my art style due to the use of charcoal and the balance of light and dark elements.
For my English 102 class my professor assigned the story "Where are you going, where have you been?" By Joyce Carol Oats. I read the short story and I liked the subtle eerie atmosphere that seems to appear in a lot of things I like which goes like this as a premise in most mystery stories:
things seem normal, but almost too normal to the point where things start to feel a little off. You don't know how or why, but you know it's this unsettling feeling that draws you to feel that way. Little by little as you search for the answers to the unsteady feeling, You realize that the seeds planted has been around you this whole time. It's just waiting for you to realize where it all began. And in that sense, the dreary feeling of irony rears it's head and you realize the scary joke that loomed right in front of your face the whole time.
It's stories like that that do so well in making things feel all too familiar due to how close to reality that the tension of fear tends to extend with it's literary, psychological /physical reach. No matter how real or fictional a story is, the fact that the fear of the unknown goes beyond any words goes to show how well done and executed of a theme that is expressed throughout the world around us is. No matter how grand or minimal the fear, the over whelming feeling grabs us and pulls us in. Whether the protagonist faces the fear all the way down to the very end is always an unsure case based on who is writing a story of almost any kind. With that said, that's what has been of interest to me as of late. The gripping narrative, subtle flashbacks, the need to see to everything all the way to the very end is something that I believe any reader, or writer can agree on. If you know how to manipulate the feelings of the audience, then yore doing something right. That's something I seek more and more in story telling and in art. Not the fear aspect, just the general emotions and roller coasters that give readers the kind of fulfilled journeys that is worth revisiting from time to time. Nothing is better than finishing a story of any media and giving a large sigh of relief. Nuff said.

Dystopian Poem for an Optimistic by Anthony Andujar jr
Dystopian Poem for an optimistic by Anthony Andujar jr
What is an allusion
To an illusion if there is no reference of text?
Mass media coverage that hide information about who could be next.
Huxley and Orwell prophesying words like bibles to vets.
Who is next to keep in check in order to keep a balance for all that is.
Leave society a quiz on how it is.
The pop question of this cohesive theme is:
What can be made to transcend, avenge, apprehend and be twisted to be used against
You?
Answer: the law.
But which law?
Legal? Religious? Vicious? Superstitious? Malicious?
Okay, I am sorry. This is an exaggeration of word play
In a post 9/11 Information Age state.
Where comments are more cynical to date, and the cliches can be predictable until it changes face.
Samples used with out referenced sources leaving uncredited creators with no penny and recognition in place.
A future imperfect but not horrible Mr David.P.
Yet the drones made while information is leaked for better or for worse are plain to see.
People are still fighting amongst themselves
Blinded by the real culprit
That's creating their cells.
So when you are not looking,
They are incorporating the ingredients for the booking.
But that is an exaggeration.
But not an impossibility.
I'll write a dystopian story,
A dystopian poem for the optimistic in you and I.
Written for
You and me,
As a reminder,
As a warning,
As an ongoing story,
So that the wars of irony
Become no more.
To be Written
Incase of one day
Creativity is no longer
Substantial with substance
And no longer
free.

Artists that played at SugarHill Bar gig 6/11/14 by Anthony Andujar jr
I was doing my 3rd gig at Sugar hill bar again. Helping buss around the bar near the Band/DJ venue. I think I should start looking into having a career related to this sort of thing. I like it. Not the whole muggy body heat, but just the music scene or as my buddy Kyle said it best" It's like the gathering of the minds". There some cool bands. Sadly I only managed to know the name of one of the bands. They all performed great, some had an 80s synth ,experimental kind of sound, while another sounded a whole lot like the smiths combined with the National. There are some very Hipster like vibes, (but what isn't these days?)But sadly the only band that I knew the name of was Parquet Courts. I spoke with the lead singer Austin and joked around saying that he almost resembled Beck in a appearance. But their set was pretty awesome and was the highlight for most of the people at the venue.
The 80s retro like , synth band ( I didn't know there names sadly due to working) lead singer Chris was a very nice guy. Spoke with him for a few minutes and a pretty cool dude. I also have to mention some alternative/ independent/ electronic/ garage band artists that people can check out such as :
City of the Sun ( alternative/indie ), Parquet Courts( alternative/indie/garage), Mount Moon (NYC artist)( Indie/ Folk), Shut Up T.V., Xenia Sky
You can check them out on Sound Cloud as well as other artists if you're interested in other genres like Hip Hop / R&B you can check out:
Mammoth Sound, Daisy Chain Galaxy, Santarna Scott
Skuuta, Jak Skelly, THC (Action Jackson and Lex Lukey), CarLovy Musicc, JS IN, HighLife Cyf,
U.K artists: Kenny Vulcan MC, KO King, Kwamz, Nehmy and B.E.V Gang, and Lazy Habits.
Rock Wilk (spoken word poetry/Musician /playwrite ) amongst many other local artists in NYC/ Brooklyn, Queens and the U.K. Check them out on SoundCloud, YouTube, ITunes , Instagram, Facebook and where ever else.
Deaf artist/ Performers: Douglass Ridloff, SignMark
Dancer/Magician performers: Tammi Greenberg, Steven Felix, Tee Jay Hearn & Jeff, Cara Diaz Certosimo, Shango Nijah Ra.
Brandon Williams and Robert J. Williams.
And for Karaoke: Check out Karaoke DJ Hidalgo Opie Luna. - Ant.A.
Here was some instagram footage (very brief ) of some of the bands that performed. If there is anyone who happens to know the name of the other bands, feel free to comment within the comments section. In addition, you can click on the link to also see some photos that I took and posted on deviant art as well. -Ant.A

ENG101 Reflection Essay 6/10/14 by Anthony Andujar jr
As I reflect on my first semester (which is also my spring semester) It was over all a good experience taking English 101 with my Professor J.C Smith. It has been a very motivating and inspiring class that forced me to push more interest in to improving my skills in writing. But what I mean by "Improving", I mean that I am beginning to form a more vocal voice in my writing where I can take a side and make an argument when writing a paper. Usually I tend to choose the grey areas in arguments because I could never decide where an argument is completely wrong or right when writing about specific topics. As the months progressed I feel that improved greatly in researching sources and double checking my sources far better than before. I realized that based on how many sources that I would utilize and research. Part of my research pushed me to speak to people about topics such as: cloned animals, factory farms, GMO's (Genetically Modified Organisms) and the F.D.A (Food and Drug Administration.)
I'd like to also mention that the transition from reading Eric Schlosser's book Fast Food Nation, watching the web series The Meatrix, classmates reflecting on the very foods that they enable, factory farms and the effects that it has on the animals, workers, and the environment as a whole was no easy task. The reason why it was no easy task is all due to the fact that since I chose a topic that focused on animal cloning, there wasn't that much updated information that was being covered about that kind of topic/controversy. With a topic like that, you'd think that there would be alot more public information that would be acknowledged. Apparently, animal cloning is not as publicly mentioned as other topics. Some people didn't even know that there was even clones of puppies and cats, especially cats that glow in the dark! It seems like a small thing to some, but when you think about it on your own personal time, you'd think " What the hell? why doesn't any one know about this kind of stuff?"
Now I have to mention why I chose animal cloning as a topic. I mean, I could have chosen any other research topic such as Fast Food industries and their abilities to manipulate Mass Media, targeting youth as young as two years old for brand loyalty and such...But my problem with those kinds of topics was that it was already covered ground. I could have chosen the easy way out and went with those kinds of topics, but the science fiction/comicbook lover In myself couldn't help but (AT LEAST) try to make effort to do something that possibly nobody in my class would 1) Research and 2) make aware to anyone that would so happen to come across my blog and (hopefully) find something that was informal, and may possibly help an actual researcher who may want to cross reference and give an opinion or share information with their report and to my blog as well. Animal cloning was not an easy topic to cover due to the lack of updated information on what has developed since the early 2000's. There were some recent reports as such, but the information that was required wasn't found on the majority of major news outlets most of the time. Even the minor news reports were difficult to sort through based on the structure of the page, and lack of expired/reliable information.
When It comes to writing, I'm at best a creative writer. I've had two poems published ("Honest Response" and "Immortal") due to submitting them to Bryant Park's Poetry back in 2010 and 2013. In case my poems are actually on the web (aside from my scanned images of the poems) I'm not a professional writer. I'm just a writer who happens to have something published. Which means.. I have a LONG WAY TO GO. But This is where I start to discuss about my weakness's as a writer.
As a writer, what I need to improve on is building more tight, and cohesive narrative when writing my reports. Also, I have to address again that writing about a topic that ties the F.D.A's activities and all of the other factors of Cloned Animal meat being distributed to the public with no labels is a little difficult to tie in together as a whole. While there have been improvement in formulating my voice and stating my claims on why "animals shouldn't be cloned", My claims still felt a little weak due to trying to incorporate more of the activities that the F.D.A has had in the process of cloned food. In addition, trying to restructure and reorganize all of the information was very difficult because with the vast amount of information (12 sources that I believed were possibly used, I can't remember the amount) I was fortunate enough to make questions and take notes on the reliable information that I was able to find. SO in a nutshell, what I have to, and want to improve on in my writing is :Cohesive/tight/strong/ more confident narrative, and take the time to foot note how I want to structure my information in an orderly format.
In reflection, I learned alot from the class due to reading the book, and of course, preparing for the online quizzes since it required information that was read/ provided in the book. I feel that I'll be confident in writing future essays in my other classes. But the lesson I learned most of all was to research more of topics that have at least more reliable Information. Not only to make it more simpler for me when I cite my paper, but also that way, It will be at least (for me) alot more plausible. ( Okay that sounds real cocky to me as I looked at that "Plausible" comment. So I apologize for any misconception of that if any thing. Not that any one asked, but you get the idea...I'm just a 20 year old freshman in college coming of age. There! that sounds more humbling.)
I believe that Writing will play a major role in my future career as it always have. I Illustrate ( Free Lance illustrator) and I write Poetry and make music ( be it guitar or fiddling with simple music programs not that its all that any way. I know, I know, too modest. but heck.) I haven't written a screenplay in a long while. I tend to write more short stories these days than long formats, due to being less time consuming, and more straight to the point with out dragging on and boring the reader. But as mentioned before, I see writing as a constant tool, whether I write a story, a song, a report, a letter or everyday activities like putting down Ideas with my Business Friends, Kyle, Karan and Clive. It definitely helps when I want to collaborate with some writer/artist/poet friends that I have. Overall, Its important to my life as a whole. I hope one day that I'm able to share my work and that people actually like what I write. And When I get somewhere whether its by the arts, illustration, music, writing, whatever it may be, I'd hope I can utilize them to help make some sort of significant/ positive difference in society. ( I'm really trying not to sound like a pathetically false Optimist. seriously, I don't even know what kind of humor is be inserted as a I write what's on my mind. I need a literary analysis haha.) But I enjoyed being in Professor Smith's English 101 Class. It was informal, it was refreshing and it was fun. It literally was my favorite class of the semester. So with out sounding like a suck up, I leave this reflection with the ending period that ends this very sentence.

Blog12 June 7,2014 CityScape: Scouting for a real GothamCity by Anthony Andujar Jr
Since March I've been traveling around parts of Washington Heights, West St, TriBeCa, ChinaTown, and other places while snapping photos with my cell phone. Usually I would take photos of places for future reference for when I illustrate or design environments based on or inspired by the places that I snapped pictures of. My friend Darien.Y. showed me around parts of WashingtonHeights, while my buddy Kyle.G. And I would have days where we would just walk around parts of the city. Every chance that I've had at walking around places, I would search, In hopes to get as much photo reference as possible to capture the true essence of the DC comic's Character: Batman.
Since I was young, much of the places that I've been surrounded by tended to have a mixture of ancient, medieval, gothic, urban, modern and cutting edge architecture/design. Although New York City is the back drop for the Marvel Comics Characters such as Spider-Man, I felt that most of New York is much more of Batman's territory than the wall crawler. While I may have gone all "Peter Parker" taking photos, my main interest was drawing whatever essence that these environments give off. Here are some examples of the photos that I've taken.
Note: I had trouble uploading the photos from my cell phone. As an alternative I Copied and pasted my deviantart photography gallery link at the bottom of this paragraph. I hope you're all able to see the photos in any way possible, just to get an idea of the imagery that I hoped to deliver.(Okay, so there was no way for myself to upload the photos, so I did a snapshot of what would have been shown. Darn internet/phone) Photos by Anthony Andujar jr.

Society shouldn't clone animals
In recent years the FDA(Food and Drug Administration) have been responsible for approving and distributing foods that have been Labelled and approved for all safety purposes Yet, despite the FDA's hand in what can and cannot be distributed to the public, there have been dissatisfaction with what the FDA deems "healthy" for the public to enable. Examples of societal concern have been addressed in recent years with topics such as GMO's( Genetically Modified Organisms) in foods, as well as other ingredients that aren't healthy nor safe for people to buy and eat. Despite GMO's there is one topic that continues to be a controversial and that issue is Cloning. Cloning used to be a plot device for fictional storytelling, along side other plot elements such as alternate realties and mech armored suits. But what was once science fiction has now become reality and Cloning is that living proof realized. But what is cloning? Cloning means, an organism or person that is an exact genetic copy of the original organism that it came from. The idea as well as the use of cloning is a conflicting topic that raises ethical conflict. Which is why society shouldn't clone animals. The reason being because there are potential risks that could develop into a wide epidemic. Numerous studies have gone into detail about the complications and the results of cloning animals when it comes to producing food for corporate factory farms at a large pace. If society continues to exercise these very actions, then the number of health risks will soar more than what society could ever imagine. Society shouldn't clone animals, because it could also lead to more ethical problems amongst society. Especially when it concerns human beings and the possible push to go into human cloning. Eric Schlosser's Fast Food Nation , He goes into detail about factory farms, and how they do damage to not just the animals, but also to the environment due to the amount of waste that is left behind along with the cruel treatment that are inflicted to the cattle's. This is an example of a ripple effect that would start as an isolated event, which would then snowball into a more global event. Much like factory farming itself, Cloning, is just that. It's a genetic test tube farm that can be tampered and augmented with which could allow for numerous unnatural things that could be injected into the very foods that society would eat. The craziest thing is that society would never really know that they ate cloned food since the FDA doesn't think anything of it. That is a scary thing considering how much is tampered with the very food that society eats and even the European Union are still holding off on labeling cloned meat. It is a potential threat that to some would seem minor in the present, but can become major threat in the future as a health scare. There are articles such as some that mention Dolly the cloned sheep a point of reference as a perfect clone, yet despite this, there have been numerous cloned animals that died multiple times in birth, or would die after a few weeks of age. Some of the symptoms that would lead to death as explained in articles such as University of Utah's 2014 article "what are the risks of cloning". In that article, they mention that’s the risks of animal cloning and causes of death are due to: abnormal brain/kidney development, and weak immune system. End animal cloning.org expands on the side effects mentioning that animals cloned are also born with enlarged limbs , along with other deformities. These are signs that show the possible health risks that it can pose on humans.Although there hasn't been any research studies to definitely prove that some one has been stricken with an illness due to eating cloned food, It's still risky business when one day it could happen. Most animals are already in a state of torture as it is due to factory farms experimenting with whatever ways to produce cattle faster and slaughter them quicker for a larger profit. And since the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) seems to lack its focus on the matter, Who's to say that whatever side effects that are affecting these animals, won't happen to a consumer who buys cloned meat, without any knowledge that the very food that they bought was cloned, and the potential side effects that could follow suit, leading to largely possible health epidemics. attention since it could cause possible diseases if not checked and dealt with. . It also harms the very animals that bare the clones and causes side effects to the carrier as well as the child that is to be born. The side effects of cloned animals that lead to their death such as deformities, abnormal growth in limbs, immune system failure, are enough risk factors among potential risk factors that could develop ahead of time. All these things could harm society and put every one in danger of potentially new diseases if left unchecked.

Within
the F.D.A's Animal and Veterinary section , there is a sub section that
details in Animal cloning. Any visitor can check on the "What is the
F.D.A doing?" section and click on Risk Assessment. Once there ,click on
'Chapter 3: Developing the Risk Assessment methodology "chapters
with in the page to see what steps the F.D.A are taking when tackling
the issues of cloning. As read on in the following chapters, the F.D.A
mentions that food labels are not required to state if the meat consumed
are cloned or not. There are details about how approach the cloning
risks baed
on a case to case study. The reason for that is because each case of
cloning varies, due to each clone's varied DNA constantly changing due
to being transgenic. Here is a little excerpt from section D. Transgenic
Animal Clones: "Organisms
derived from transgenic cells will have risks specific to the inserted
construct, its insertion site, and its subsequent expression. Although
it is entirely possible for transgenic clones (or any transgenic
organism) to be produced safely and to be a safe source of edible
products, the risks associated with each animal must be determined
separately on a case-by-case basis, because of the added genetic
material." The
possibilities of added genetic material being a threat are likely to
be. One can assume what happens when this kind of genetic material are
in the meat and distributed to the masses through Fast Food. It would be
a scary thing to actually have a potential epidemic happen all because
of consummation of non labeled, cloned food. With Factory Farms pushing
for an already immediate food production, cloning seems to be a great
deal. But considering how they are able to obtain a healthy group of
cattle, sounds hard to believe. In order to have healthy, fit, food,
they would need to have animals that are treated with care from services
such as prairie farms. Factory farms are growing more and more every
day, finding ways to produce meat products faster and faster. this would
be difficult for natural farmers because factory farms are inhabiting
more. This makes it difficult for farmers to even have a chance at
making a living with in the market. It takes jobs away, which is part of
the ripple effect that Cloning causes. Since
there are already cruel working conditions, a cloned animal could have a
disease that could prove immune to any anti virus's provided by how
much anti biotic material was consumed. Imagine, a meta virus/ disease
that a dead clone may have with in it's body. One of the factory workers
could be trudging through the blood or being covered in them. After
working the hours, the factory workers would possibly go home to family,
friends, etc. And not know that they in hailed a possible disease. With
out any knowledge of it, the disease that the workers unknowingly
carried could spread to their family members and community. This would
create a domino effect that would attack bio diversity as a whole. All
of this could occur all due to The Non labeling of GMO's and Cloned
foods. If the cloned foods, GMO's and other foods are not labeled, it
would make it very difficult to pin point the origin of where the
possible epidemic started. Which is why cloning animals is a major
issue, because the FDA doesn't seem to consider the possible
consequences that could come of this. The
F.D.A tends to have a history of stopping epidemics and crimes in the
past. But most of the time, it's never an immediate result. Example: in a
Wall Street journal article by Jared A.Favule, the author details how
majority of the time, it takes the FDA at least 4 to 5 years to debar
doctors who commit crimes. Sometimes it would take 11 years or longer.
Now imagine how long it would take for the F.D.A to try and contain an
epidemic that would grow right Beneath their noses, due to allowing
cloned foods (that are not labelled) on to the market. These questions
and theories are just examples. But they are the kind of Examples that should scare any consumer into thinking twice about the food they purchase. Recently on may 24th, 2014, there was a Protest called "the March on Monsanto"( which was located in Union Square: Manhattan, NY)
which was about Monsanto not wanting to label food that contained
GMO's. These protestors spoke out about making the GMO foods , labelled.
Because people should know what they are eating. California
managed to accomplish this feat when they did the same about cloned
food labels. They passed a bill requiring for cloned meat to be labeled
into their food as confirmed by consumers union.org. The fact that FDA allows for food with out labels to be distributed is criminal, cloned or not. Back
in 2007, South Korean geneticists were tinkering with the genetics of a
cat, and used a virus to enable the cat the ability, to glow in the
dark. When scientist were asked the reason for the experiment, they
said: "the ability to engineer animals.. will enable them to
artificially create animals with human genetic diseases." Following with
a Today NBC report by Natalie Morales who reported (back on December 14th, 2007) that the Scientists were doing these studies to understand human genetic diseases. A 2014 BBC article by David Shukman , reported that China's
Genetics company BGI, is Cloning animals on an industrial scale. Cloned
pigs are used as test dummies for new medicines. "Hand made" cloning
and other forms, are attempts to push for a cloning factory as reported
by Shukman. When Shukman interviewed BGI's Chief executive Wang Jun about animals , Jun responded with: " If it looks cute ..you should sequence it..its
like digitalizing all the wonderful species" and responded to ethical
questions with " We're following nature, there are people dying from
world hunger and protein supply. So we have to think about ways of
dealing with that."
When looking into this issue, one must wonder how it could affect
bio-diversity and cause potential harm. What used to be science fiction
has now become a reality.Whether it is Huxley's Brave New World, Marvel Comic's: Mister Sinister /X-23/X-men stories, Spider-man: The Clone Saga, DC's Superboy, The Star Wars films, Orphan Black(tv series), Anime/Manga etc, there is a common reflection about the direction that society could head towards based on the various medias and their views based on the topic.
Despite the great things animal cloning, Animal Cloning is wrong. The
idea that there could be possible meta pathogens that could cause more
harm and be resistant to all sorts of anti virus medications is
something that should be looked into. there is not a lot of research
that has been reported about possible meta-pathogens due to cloning,
should be looked into in case of possible horrors that could exist. With
that said, as much as it can help society, animal cloning/ cloning
could harm humanity and all of bio-diversity as a whole If left
unsupervised.
